Matched certification data

ENERGY STAR dehumidifiers: capacity & efficiency at 65°F

Compare 11 matched ENERGY STAR model profiles at 65°F / 60% RH, with certified pints, IEF, shared-family notes and practical installation limits.

This comparison uses one documented cool-air test configuration, not the warmer 80°F / 60% RH marketing point. The table and all 11 profiles are present in the initial HTML. Equal certified numbers remain equal; a shared family test does not make different pump variants identical.

Abestorm Guardian SNS65

Abestorm markets the Guardian SNS65 for crawl spaces and basements. Its 55-pint AHAM claim is recorded separately from its 120-pint saturation output. It has a built-in condensate pump. The model name includes 65, but the specification table states 55 pints at AHAM.

What the common 65°F test tells you

DOE Appendix X1 specifies different conditions for portable and whole-home configurations. These matched portable entries use 65°F / 60% RH; whole-home entries at 73°F are excluded. Portable is the test configuration and does not imply a collection bucket. Compare capacity and integrated energy factor within this common configuration, then check cabinet, drain and the exact production unit.

Capacity and efficiency answer different questions

Certified pints/day measures water removal in the prescribed test. IEF in liters per kWh measures integrated efficiency under the method. More pints does not automatically mean a higher IEF or a lower household bill. Runtime, humidity, temperature and your tariff still matter; the ENERGY STAR annual method is standardized rather than a prediction for your home.

Shared ratings do not erase hardware differences

HD55S and HDi65S share one test-family entry, while SN55S and SNS65 share another. The pump configurations still differ. Moiswell M70/M145 and their MP variants retain separately documented SKUs and cabinets even where their certified values coincide. Certification does not by itself identify common internals, a common OEM or equal warranty terms.

Using the shortlist in a colder crawl space

A 65°F test result is not an output rating at 50°F or at a manufacturer’s operating minimum. Choose the physical and drain arrangement first, add your actual area and lowest temperature on the final shortlist, then confirm the moisture load and installation. A missing matched entry here does not prove that another model is inefficient or uncertified.
